Dina Meyer was born and raised at Forest Hills Queens New York. Just before finishing her junior year, she relocated to Queens into Dix Hills Long Island. She is the younger sister of Gregory, and has an older brother, named Evan. The modeling profession was her first experience within the business. The model was employed from age nine to sixteen. Ron Stetson was her teacher at The Neighborhood Playhouse where she began studying Sanford Meisner's acting techniques for approximately three years. Sandra Bullock and Michael Douglas were among the actors that received this education. She got her first part in the soap opera Beverly Hills, 90210, that required her to relocate away from Los Angeles. The first film she appeared in was Johnny Mnemonic. She did all the stunts of the movie, and it helped establish her as an athletic actor. Through the talent agent of Matt LeBlanc that she was to be able to get a regular part on Friends.
