Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat

Madekwe comes from a multi-cultural household. Her birthplace was in South London. Her mother is English and her father is Nigerian. Her family was raised in a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age 14. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained a BA degree in acting. She was on stage in several productions as a student such as the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her breakthrough role came in 2007's Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream. It was co-starring Colin Farrell (who played the role of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actor who was raised by the large family. Her parents were Roy and Patty Leggat. Her parents, Roy and Patty along with the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram, were all present. All of her brothers were athletic, and they played baseball as well as hockey in the winter as well as in the summer. She grew up in the arenas and baseball. Ashley was never able to actually walk. She was a dancer. When she reached 2 and a 1/2 and a half, she was a part of Baby Ballet. Ashley became passionate about dance following this. Ashley was a competitor in tap, jazz and ballet at the top divisions. Additionally, she was awarded the top awards for soloists in every major dance contests, like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
